Social organizations are gathering near the Rosales Hospital, as the march “For the dignity and freedom of the people” will begin shortly, demanding that the government respect human, labor and union rights.
Social and grassroots organizations believe that on September 15, people cannot speak of the country’s independence when thousands of innocent people have been arrested and 311 people have died without any connection to criminal groups.
The opposition Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front (FMLN) also gathered its militants at its headquarters to join the march of social organizations to demand popular rights.
The official sector, meanwhile, began its parade led by the Armed Forces, displaying its military might.
