All schools in Tryavna municipality closed their doors due to the presence of the influenza A H1N1 virus. So far, the disease has been confirmed in five children from the Petko Slaveykov secondary school in Trevna, where classes were suspended at the beginning of the week due to the nearly 250 sick children with similar symptoms.
At the moment, there are 33 children in the children’s ward of the Trevna hospital with symptoms of the flu. The remaining five who were diagnosed with the A H1N1 virus are being treated at home, as their illness is mild. RIOKOZ – Gabrovo warns citizens to avoid frequent contact, as this applies to a particularly high degree for the elderly who are prone to respiratory diseases.
By order of the mayor, mass events on the territory of Tryavna municipality have been cancelled. Additional isolation beds are also provided in the hospital if the number of patients increases. Many residents of Trevna prefer to take measures against the disease themselves by getting medical masks. Schools in the municipality will remain closed until the end of this week. Depending on whether the number of sick children has increased, it will become clear on Monday whether the flu vacation will last longer.
