British team Williams made a huge blunder during qualifying for the Azerbaijan Formula 1 Grand Prix by leaving an engine cooling system on one of its cars on Saturday 14 September in Baku.
It’s not as if the device is discreet… Even so, the Williams team mechanics made a big mistake during qualifying for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Formula 1.
As he set off for a second fast lap in Q3, the qualifying session featuring the ten fastest drivers of the day, Thailand’s Alexander Albon had to stop at the side of the track and play mechanic himself.

And for good reason, the British team left an engine cooling system on one of the Williams’ air intakes when it was time to let Albon leave. He therefore had to do everything himself and stop to remove everything, including the ice.
A big blunder that provoked a sally from the former world champion Jacques Villeneuve, consultant at Canal +, and a regular at the event: “How do they not see it, it’s fluorescent yellow… Honestly…”. And that’s pretty well summed up.
