The Chinese brand Dongfeng is coming to the Czech market, where the MPV category is gradually disappearing, with the U-Tour model. This seven-seater car offers a fresh design, rich equipment and focuses above all on comfort. Chinese cars are gradually establishing themselves on the Czech market and are mainly attracted by a friendly price. U-Tour is no exception. How does it compare to the competition and can it attract the Czech customer?

Dongfeng is one of the leading Chinese players in our market. It supplies SUVs as well as proper trucks. Czech families especially liked MPVs for their practicality. But U-Tour also bets on design. In the cabin, we will feel like we are in a luxury car, while the exterior beckons with soft and elegant shapes. The basic version will cost us 840,000 crowns including VAT. Higher equipment will then cost only 16,000 crowns. Let’s see what Dongfeng has prepared for us.
Design
The design of the U-Tour is undoubtedly one of its biggest attractions. The large mask, elongated headlights and expressive lines give the car a dynamic and modern look. The overall impression is enhanced by the large panoramic roof, which allows plenty of light into the interior. The carmaker tried to make the appearance similar to a yacht. We think she succeeded quite well.
The interior of the U-Tour is unsurprisingly spacious and luxurious. The dominant features are electrically adjustable seats with heating, ventilation and even a massage function. The materials are pleasant to the touch and the overall processing seems solid. The second row offers two separate seats with a similar level of comfort as the front. The third row is more suitable for children or for shorter journeys.
Driving characteristics and engine
The U-Tour offers a comfortable ride, in short, it is ideal for long journeys. The chassis is tuned softer, which is reflected in the quality of driving on our roads. The basic equipment is very rich. In addition to the already mentioned comfort features, the U-Tour also offers a whole range of safety assistants, such as adaptive cruise control, lane keeping or a 360° camera. The U-Tour is equipped with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with a maximum output of 130 kW and a torque of 260 Nm. Ideal values.
