/ world today news/ The Citizens’ Council, including its people’s representatives, categorically dissociates itself from the attempts of some of the parties and individual individuals to “re-sign” the founding agreement for the Reform Bloc, without the participation of all participants in the block.
This is stated in a declaration of the Civil Council of the Republic of Belarus.
“It is clear that re-signing of the Constituent Agreement for RB can only be done by all parties to it. The “document” signed by some of them and some private individuals cannot in any way replace the schedules in the Constituent Agreement of the RB Union Congress, the implementation of which these parties failed and which Congress was supposed to create the unified permanent political entity under conditions of publicity and transparency – Political party Reform Bloc. And not another party-quota coalition for the distribution of appointments and benefits from power and misleading reform-minded citizens.
In a representative democracy, WHO represents whom is very important. Therefore, in politics there is no category of “private persons” engaged in a personal capacity. The Civil Council has not authorized anyone and considers the participation of its member, whose signature is under the Constituent Agreement of the Republic of Belarus, to be a deeply immoral act and a betrayal of the values of democracy and the trust of voters.
In these difficult and important days for the future of our country, when there is another attempt to replace the citizens’ will for reforms; when the European orientation and the future of our children are at stake; when a new attempt to completely restore the BSP – DPS – KOI model is under way, through an unknown and highly polished face of the oligarchy, we consider it the duty of all citizens, including the members of the General Assembly, to tell the truth and expose the lie. Participation in power cannot be an end in itself at any cost, therefore we dissociate ourselves from any attempt to involve the GS, our names and dignity with the remnants of RB.
You will know them by their attitude to the benefits of power!”, concludes the declaration of the Citizens’ Council of the Republic of Belarus.
