“I’ve always been pretty lucky”: player wins 1 million euros in My Million game in Marseille

France has one more millionaire. A lucky resident of Bouches-du-Rhône who played the My Million draw on August 23 in Marseille, in Bouches-du-Rhône, won a check worth one million euros on Thursday, announced the Française des Jeux. “I’ve always been pretty lucky,” he said in a press release from the company, which indicates that he validated his winning ticket at the Le Totem tobacco shop in Aix-en-Provence.

“I’ve been playing Loto for about forty years and EuroMillions for twenty years,” he explained to the FDJ, describing himself as a loyal player. The day he filled out his ticket, he had filled in the boxes using numbers that corresponded to his trouser size, but also to his shoe size. It was finally thanks to the code “EuroMillions-My Million” that he won the tidy sum. “When I realized my winnings of one million euros, my blood boiled,” he recalled.

“Why not win a new jackpot?”

At the FDJ, he says he wants to share it with his loved ones and imagine beautiful trips. The jackpot has not in any case put him off playing. “Why not win a new jackpot on Friday the 13th?”, he joked in the press release. This Friday, a jackpot of 13 million euros is also up for grabs at the Super Loto.

Earlier this week, a resident of Montrouge (Hauts-de-Seine) won the biggest lottery prize of 2024 after winning the sum of 22 million euros. The man, a very occasional player, said he was going to “stop working” to “devote himself to traveling”.
