Fernanda Iglesias and Juan Otero They had a heated back and forth over the comments made by “la angelita” about Florence Pena. During the preview of Cantando 2024, the actress’s son came out in defense of his mother.
Peña’s son participated in the group photo of the new edition of the contest and, when asked about LAMtook the opportunity to address the panelist for having criticized his mother’s performance.
The truth is that the dispute started with a comment from Fernanda that upset the influencer: “I made your mother famous, dear. I took a lot of notes on her and gave her a helping hand when she was little at Clarín.”
“The good thing is that you become famous by speaking badly of others, that’s good. Do you know what is good too? When you talk about others, you talk well of others, because that reflects worse on you, if you talk badly about others all the time, I tell you this as advice,” Otero replied.
“I’ll tell you the truth: It’s horrible to hear you speak so badly about people, especially when you mess with the work and talent of others. When you talk about how exaggerated Mom is and what not… I ask you if you ever sat down to watch her in the theater or saw anything of her because it seems to me that you have little knowledge,” he continued.
To which Fernanda replied: “Yes, obviously. You weren’t even born when I saw her in the theatre. I saw her a thousand times. She’s very good in the theatre, but I don’t like doing television and I have the right to do so.”
Not wanting to downplay the issue, Otero continued: “Do you know what bothers me? Double standards. When you mess with others, everything is fine, and when they mess with you, everything is bad. I notice that a lot in the media.”
In response to the latter, the panelist questioned him as to why she couldn’t criticize her if she wanted to, and he did, which further infuriated the son of the ‘Married with Children’ actress.
“I can criticize her all I want because I know her from head to toe, you don’t know her at all. (..) What bothers me is that they speak badly of her and then when they get back at her they complain. Put up with it. If they talk bad about others, put up with it, because it’s that crazy“, held.
The little angel tried to tone down the fight and confessed that she likes him, but it wasn’t enough for Otero, who closed the note by replying: “It bothers me when people talk bad about her all the time when anyone who worked with her knows what she’s like.”
