TV Nova has started voting in this year’s most famous Czech music poll, the Czech Nightingale. Fans will be able to send their votes for their music idols until November 17th. The gala evening, again moderated by the duo Ondřej Sokol and Aleš Háma, will take place in Prague’s Karlín Forum on November 29.
A live broadcast full of live music performances directed by Pep Majeský will be shown in prime time by TV Nova. A reward in the form of a luxury car is once again prepared for one voter.
“It’s unbelievable how it got away. It’s here again, new year, new songs, new scandals, new performers. There is a new unwritten sheet of Czech nightingale and I am already looking forward to how the viewers will vote and how they will decide. And, of course, cooperation with Ondra. It’s always a holiday,” says Aleš Háma.
Ondřej Sokol adds: “Recently, I was at an event at the Karlín Forum, and when the moderator came there, I realized that I was really looking forward to Slavík being there again. Aleš and I are having a great time. It is preceded by long preparations. It’s a lot of writing. The script has been in the making for a long time. I think a lot of people think we come and talk, but we really don’t. The preparation must be really honest, also considering the fact that probably everyone already knows that we have the task of offending a lot of people. So there’s also a lot of sitting with the legal department.’
Music fans can always vote for a maximum of six performers on the Český slavik website (ceskyslavik.cz) in the categories Singer, Singer, Music Group and Hip Hop and Rap. At the gala evening, the audience will also find out who this year will enter the Nightingale Hall of Fame for the third time in a row and who will become the Absolute Nightingale.
Voters will also decide the winner of the Trinity Bank Discovery of the Year category, in which Pam Rabbit, Sofian Medjmedj and the band Brixtn are nominated. “The purpose of this category is to appreciate and popularize male and female singers, music groups and hip-hoppers or rappers who have significantly established themselves on the music scene in the past year and whose work reflects modern popular music trends and also means a contribution in terms of genres, interpretation, etc. However, the condition is certainly not that they are completely unknown artists,” explains creative producer and director Pepe Majeský, for whom this year is already the sixth year of the Czech Nightingale. The winner of this category will receive a financial reward of 200,000 crowns during the live broadcast from the survey partner Trinity Bank.
