‘They were abrupt’ – El Financiero

Luisito the crook? Luisito Comunica was arrested on the Dominican Republic Metro for trying to record a video to share on social media, information confirmed by the Mexican influencer, who said that the security elements were ‘a little rough’ when arresting him.

On Wednesday, September 11, the first details about the arrest of the Mexican businessman were released.

However, hours later, it was the owner of the “Rey Palomo” brand who provided a little more detail on the facts through a video posted on his personal Instagram account.

“Regarding the whole issue of the arrest in Dominica, everything is fine, there are news reports that are blowing it out of proportion, everything is in order, I was recording and apparently it is not possible,” he said in a short video.

However, Luis Arturo Villar, the real name of the Mexican influencer, publicly denounced certain aggressive treatment against him.

“It escalated to another level, they were a bit rough, honestly, my friends ended up in handcuffs, but it didn’t go any further, the truth is we are having an incredible time, I’ll tell you all the details later, but in short everything is fine, there are good videos coming,” concluded Luisito Comunica.

What happened to Luisito Comunica in the Dominican Republic?

José Castillo, content creator and Luisillo’s companion on this trip, spoke a little this Wednesday about the arrest they experienced in the Dominican Republic.

According to him, they wanted to see the Metro in this country and document it, but it did not go well because they were approached by officers from the Specialized Corps for Metro Security (CESMET) who approached them to tell them about the prohibition of recording in this public place.

In order to do so, the internet celebrity needed to obtain a special permit, which he did not have at the time, and was therefore arrested.

What did Dominican authorities say about the arrest of Luisito Comunica?

The Dominican Republic Metro published a statement regarding the arrest of Luisito Comunica, where they specified the laws that the Mexican influencer violated.

“Luisito Comunica was at the Santo Domingo Metro facilities yesterday afternoon, Tuesday, September 10, along with some companions. During his visit, they were recording, but they did not have the necessary permits to make recordings at the facilities, as required by our security regulations,” they detailed.

However, moments later they released him and he was able to continue with his ‘normal’ activities on public transport.

“From the Office for the Reorganization of Transportation (OPRET), responsible for the operations of the Metro, we make it public knowledge that, after the corresponding verifications, they were allowed to continue with their work, although he decided not to continue with the recordings at that time” reads the document.

To conclude the text, they welcomed the Mexican influencer and highlighted the article that ‘caught their attention’.

“We take this opportunity to welcome you to the Dominican Republic (…) We remind you that, according to article 34, numeral 24 of the OPRET User Manual, it is prohibited to record or take images in the facilities of the Santo Domingo Metro and Cable Car for non-personal purposes, except with written authorization,” the statement concluded.
