Due to a defective signal box at Bremen Central Station, there were massive delays and train cancellations on Thursday afternoon. According to Deutsche Bahn, all connections were affected, both long-distance and local. However, the work has now been completed, confirmed railway spokeswoman Sabine Brunkhorst. Train services should resume as normal, but there may still be isolated delays.
The Nordwestbahn trains in Bremen and the surrounding area were also affected by the signal box disruption. Passengers sometimes had to accept delays of up to an hour.
