CNET’s Scott Stein was able to try out each title directly and compare it to the PS5 versions. He singled out the racing game as the most impressive Gran Turismo 7which on the Pro model runs either in 4K a 60 FPS s ray tracingemnamely RT reflections, or even in 8K resolution. Another racing game – F1 24 – brings ray tracing to the console.

In terms of image quality, CNET was most impressed Final Fantasy VII Rebirthwhich suffers quite a bit on the basic PS5, mainly due to poor quality upscaling. Stein had high praise for the game on PS5 Pro: “Everything was sharper, but also smooth at 60 FPS. It felt like putting on new glasses.”
Horizon Forbidden West, The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, Spider-Man 2 and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Part now offer a mode with 4K and 60 FPS. According to Stein, it’s great, but sometimes the differences compared to the basic PS5 aren’t that big.
