/ world today news/ The Constitutional Court rejected President Rosen Plevneliev’s request for the interpretation of Article 99, Paragraph 7 of the Constitution.
According to the constitutional judges, the text of the Basic Law, on which Plevneliev specifically wanted an interpretation, is extremely clear and does not need interpretation. The ruling was signed with a dissenting opinion by judges Keti Markova and Anastas Anastasov. Judge Filip Dimitrov has an opinion on the reasons.
On November 14, the president made a request to the Constitutional Court for an interpretation – whether in the last three months of his mandate, the head of state scheduled new parliamentary elections without having dissolved the National Assembly.
