China’s ambassador to the US has criticized Washington’s course of “de-risking” relations with Beijing – 2024-09-11 14:25:15

/ world today news/ On June 7, the Chinese ambassador to the USA Xie Feng was officially welcomed at an event organized on the occasion of his arrival in the country by the China-American Business Council.

In his address to the hosts, Ambassador Xie pointed out that if the US takes a course of “de-risking” as a means of achieving “separation”, it will create more difficulties for bilateral relations.

“Recently, the US has announced that it does not seek to ‘break up’ with China, but at the same time talks about ‘de-risking’. What risks? where are they How to remove? The US promoted globalization, market economy and free trade, urged other countries to open up and include in the world economy, and now why are they closing down?” Xie Feng said in his speech.

He added that all countries pay attention to their national security, but it should not be expanded and used as a motive to introduce protectionist measures and strike against competitors.

“The national security of one country cannot be based on the insecurity of other countries, just as the stability of one country’s industrial chain cannot be based on the instability of the global one. To date, the US has included more than 1,300 Chinese legal entities and individuals in various restrictive and sanction lists, and after the trade war, a technological war with Beijing began. How will this bring security to the United States and does it really meet its interests?” concluded the diplomat.
