(ANSA) – ROME, SEPTEMBER 11 – The parliamentary Anti-Mafia commission will once again summon the Perugia prosecutor, Raffaele Cantone, for a hearing. Cantone is investigating the matter of alleged dossiers against celebrities, politicians and entrepreneurs with information gleaned from the database of the National Anti-Mafia Directorate. This is what emerged from the meeting of the commission’s presidency office, chaired by Chiara Colosimo. “My proposal to hear Cantone again was accepted by almost all the groups and it was agreed that any other decisions regarding the matter of the dossiers will be made following that hearing,” explained commissioner Raffaelle Paita, senator of Italia Viva. The date has not yet been set. Cantone, who had already been heard by the Anti-Mafia commission last March regarding the same investigation, in recent days had raised the alarm about serious facts that could have determined the risk of tampering with evidence to the detriment of the investigations. Also for this reason the Perugia prosecutor’s office had advanced the request – rejected by the investigating judge – of house arrest for the former PM Antonio Laudati and the Gdf officer Pasquale Striano.
