The PAN coordinator in the Senate, Guadalupe Murguía, justified the call made by a member of her party, María de Jesús Díaz Marmolejo, to lynch “and beat up” any opponent who dares to vote in favor of judicial reform.
During a conference at the PAN executive committee in Aguascalientes, accompanied by other members of the PAN, Diaz Marmolejo said that “any guy who votes against should be lynched, idiot.”
Seriously, added Senator Díaz, nicknamed “La Chuya.” “Just as I am a bad-mouth, they should beat the shit out of any guy who doesn’t vote against this reform.”
The video of that call to lynching anyone who votes with Morena, which was made the day before, went viral on social media, but today the coordinator of the PAN group, Guadalupe Murguía, commented that she considers that “it does not represent anything, more than a senator using her usual language and the one she uses to communicate in her state.”
That expression “from Senator “Chuya”, her name is “Chuya” and she is from the National Action group, must be understood in the context of the way she usually expresses herself.”
He insisted: “She speaks like that, and when this happens, there are those who find it strange, but she speaks like that, and so much so that in Aguascalientes, where she is from, they know her perfectly and it is her natural way of expressing herself.”
On the other hand, regarding the complaint by the PAN leader, Marko Cortés, that the prosecutors are pressuring the 43 opposition legislators to support the reform, Murguía clarified that she has not received any threats or pressure.
“However, other members of the Senate have commented that there have been suggestions, invitations, proposals, etc., to grant the vote to the government, to the ruling party,” he added in an interview, at the end of the report by the governor of Querétaro, Mauricio Kuri.
