Grand Bordeaux Station Project

For 20 years, attendance at Bordeaux Saint-Jean station has increased continuously. The attractiveness of the city of Bordeaux and the Gironde as a whole, the opening and the success of the High Speed Line (LGV) in 2017 are the main factors for this growth (+8.5% annually).
The station has become a major multimodal interchange at the crossroads of several modes of transport: trains (TGV, Intercités, TER, RER Métropolitain), public transport (tram, bus, coaches) and individual travel (walking , bicycle, car, taxi). , motorcycle, scooter, etc.).

In the coming years, this growth will continue, along with an increase in population and activity in the station area. By 2030, peak attendance at the station is expected to double. With the LGV development to the south, three times as many cyclists are expected.

The Bordeaux Grande Gare project therefore has two objectives: to offer more space for users and to make multiple modes of transport more accessible.
