Bergheim (North Rhine-Westphalia) – In a recent report, the Office for the Protection of the Constitution in North Rhine-Westphalia describes him as an “extremist Salafist preacher”. Will Pierre Vogel (46) now be let loose on children in a boxing club near Cologne?
In a YouTube video, he explains that he has been training students aged four to ten at the “Fight Club Bergheim” since 2023. This is reported by the “Cologne City Advertiser”.
Pierre Vogel converted to Islam
Vogel was born in Frechen (North Rhine-Westphalia). He is a former professional boxer and converted to Islam in 2001. He now performs under the name “Abu Hamza”. He is considered one of the most influential people in the Islamist scene.
A spokesman for the NRW State Office for the Protection of the Constitution did not comment on Vogel himself when asked by the “Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger”. However, the instruction of children by extremists is “highly questionable”.

According to information from the newspaper, Pierre Vogel has been working as a trainer for a good year. “The club was only founded in 2023. Two people who train at the club but wish to remain anonymous confirm that Pierre Vogel is still in charge of children’s training there. In addition, there should be regular Islamic prayers before training,” it says.
The club’s operator has not yet responded to a request from the “Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger”. When asked by BILD, the operator said that Vogel does not work in the boxing club and never has.
