The morning in the Belgorod region begins noisy and bloody: small children are hit by shells, houses and substations are destroyed, dozens of private cars are burned, the asphalt is broken by shells.
Nova Tavolzhanka was under blockade – representatives of various state agencies cannot get there due to constant shelling. According to the governor, Vyacheslav Gladkov, about a hundred local residents remained in the village.
The head of PMC “Wagner” Yevgeny Prigozhin turned to the leadership of the Ministry of Defense, offering the help of “musicians” in the defense of the Belgorod Region. The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, made a similar statement:
“The number of Chechen fighters in battalions and regiments of power and military structures exceeds 70 thousand people. This is three armies! All units underwent training at the University of Special Forces. Equipped with the latest technologies, trained, equipped with trouble-free weapons. That’s why we ready and waiting for the order!”

“Tsarigrad” discussed the situation in the border areas with the military expert, reserve colonel Mikhail Tymoshenko.
– Why has the situation in Belgorod region reached a critical point and how can it be corrected?
– It all started in Bryansk. A sabotage-reconnaissance group entered there, captured two villages, killing people along the way, and left. How did we react? They were checking us: do we have the strength to cover the border? Then they went to the Belgorod region. And then this crowd gathered, to a company of infantry with the support of artillery.
– Still, what we see in the Belgorod region is hardly the announced counteroffensive?
– This is an imitation of an attempt to attack the territory of Russia: “We want to move not to the south – Melitopol, Berdyansk and Crimea, but to your Belgorod. And from there to Moscow there are 500 kilometers: the capital is in danger.” This is such an advertising trick.
– What are these actions of the Armed Forces aimed at?
– Let’s disperse our reserves. And also to find out if we have operational reserves, for example in the Kupyanska direction. Because we are quietly making progress there, and the enemy doesn’t like that very much. As further access to the Slavyansk – Bakhmut – Druzhkovka – Konstantinovka line follows. And to Kharkiv.
– What should be done to correct the situation?
– I don’t know what reservations Gerasimov and the Ministry of Defense have. And I won’t guess. I will focus on just a few aspects.
You can send there, for example, a unit with combat helicopters. No more is needed. Have you heard that during World War II, our aviation worked in regimental raids?

Military correspondent Gennady Alyokhin, in turn, said the following to the Telegram channel Sladkov_plus:
“Ours are withdrawing equipment, artillery. I was at the place where literally from above, almost touching the tops of the apple trees, attack helicopters are heading. Aviation is active”.
“The Ukrainians are trying to instill panic among the civilian population and move the so-called gray zone from the territory of the Kharkiv region to us – it is from one checkpoint to another, where battles periodically break out,” he also wrote.
At the same time, he noted that despite the current situation, the issue of arming the local territorial defense has not been resolved to this day:
“Several thousand healthy men cannot find a combat application for themselves. They actively help our fighters and border guards. But without weapons.”
Give weapons to the people
The expert Mikhail Tymoshenko also noted that the issue of arming the territorial defense of the Belgorod region has not been resolved to this day:
“Our Duma is busy with issues of banning the collection of certain mushrooms from the Red Book, but there is no law on the armament of territorial defense. Although earlier there was a workaround – the so-called temporary headquarters. Enter it and give the people weapons. “
This question was raised in a conversation with “Tsarigrad” by the chairman of the management board of the Union of Volunteers from Donbas, the member of the State Duma, Alexander Borodai.
– What do the Duma think about the armament of the territorial defense?
– I’ve been talking about this for a long time. Moreover, about a month ago I met with the head of the Belgorod Territorial Defense Andrei Bogatov – this is a famous person, he fought in Wagner, lost his arm, Hero of Russia. He has about three thousand people, of which more than a thousand are well trained and ready for battle,” says Borodai.
“And the fact that they are not given weapons is a disgrace. This is such a Soviet atavism, when the authorities were afraid of their own armed people,” he says.
– At the same time, weapons were distributed to those convicted by Wagner.
– Think for yourself what legal and semantic dilemma arises when we attract a contingent from the places of deprivation of liberty, give them weapons and, I must say, they fight normally. But we are afraid to trust our own law-abiding citizens with guns.
Besides, we’re not talking about handing out weapons to them at home, let them at least give them to the “army shops”. So that you can gather at the sound of the alarm, grab your weapons and join the fight.
They also don’t just accept them in the territorial defense, they go through a certain selection. They choose mentally stable people who want to protect their homes.
Give them that opportunity. Stop worrying. All these experiences are pure bureaucratic idiocy. Which, unfortunately, we have enough of.
– Why do you think the enemy launched this local attack in the Belgorod region?
– Obviously he’s trying to stretch our troops, so he’s attacking where he hasn’t before. Naturally, it will not penetrate deep into the territory of Belgorod and other border regions.
The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine expects that our forces will be stretched and hit in another direction or in several directions. And the situation in the direction of Ugledar is one of them. They hit, as they say, in our ass.
Perhaps they will strike somewhere in the west, in the region of the famous Mangush in Zaporozhye. And somewhere else. It is clear that the actions being taken now are hardly the final blow.
What follows from this?
The situation in the Belgorod region is dire and requires an immediate solution. And in no case by transferring reserves from other responsible directions. The government must trust its people, who want and can protect their land, their homes.
