Santo Domingo.- Following the promise Al Horford made to the country after winning the NBA final with Boston Celtics, the basketball player set foot on Dominican soil on Tuesday afternoon, along with his wife, the former Miss Universe, Amelia Vega and their children.
The couple shared on their social media their excitement at returning to their home country, where they will enjoy and meet up with family and friends.

Al and his family arrived at around four in the afternoon at the Las Americas International Airport, along with the manager of the Boston Celtics team.
For Horford, who has had a distinguished career, this trip represents a deep connection to his Dominican roots with his wife, and also brings with him the trophy he won in the NBA.
“It was very important for me to be able to go to the Dominican Republic and celebrate with my family, friends and loved ones in the land that made me the person I am today; my triumph is that of my country,” said Al Horford.
Al and his family arrived on a Jet Blue flight, and he noted, “What better way to get here from Boston than on Lucky Blue, the Celtics’ JetBlue aircraft. I hope it inspires all those future athletes by showing that through hard work and dedication, anything is possible.”
