Pile of Books, a book tinder for literary and human exchange
The journalist, publicist and reader Nacho Damiano She had the idea of creating a website to exchange books and also created a book podcast with the same name that she hosts with the singer and reader Julieta Venegas.
“In the podcast we bring together writers, and in the interviews we ask them to read a book to talk about. We study them and try to link the conversation to how those same works influence them when writing,” she said.
On the website Pile of Bookswhat is done is that each person uploads the pile of books that they are no longer interested in reading to exchange with another reader who is trying to exchange their own books. “When the platform makes the match, it connects the two people and there is an exchange. It is a free library renewal,” he added.
“If we have common reading interests and live close by, we’ll most likely have a coffee, a beer, and continue to recommend things to each other,” he concluded.
