Hello Simon,
From January 1st, 2025, electricity providers must offer hourly rates. This is of course a great optimization opportunity for smart home users, but the comparison to a fixed price is always great. Therefore, a script for tracking the electricity meter and calculating the total consumption with a fixed price and comparing it with an hourly price would be great. Here, for example, the integration of the [GitHub – mampfes/ha_epex_spot_sensor: Provides helper sensors for EPEX Spot integration.]( Spot Sensor). This can be a great help when considering the economic viability of PV systems and storage. I have noticed that when my PV system is producing, the price of electricity tends to fall. It will also be interesting to use it to control a wallbox, as this will result in a significantly higher electricity consumption than other devices.
Could you build something like that?

Wallbox, as this consumes significantly more electricity than other devices.
Maybe you can watch the video:
In short:
If you don’t have large energy consumption like an electric car and can save money, you might as well stick with a fixed tariff.
