Our countries support each other on the international stage and in multilateral frameworks,” said the chairman of the Presidency of the Balkan Republic Zelka Tsvijanovic in an interview with the China Media Group.
“In 2021, Chinese companies came to Sarajevo, thanks to which the city’s tram network is being renewed. This is the first such project by Chinese companies in Europe and the largest infrastructural project in the city in recent decades, which benefits local transport,” she pointed out.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of the European countries that first responded positively to China’s Belt and Road initiative. The Ivovik Wind Park is a landmark project within its framework, and it is expected to be operational at the end of 2023. Currently, over 100 people from the local population work there, which contributes to the improvement of employment in the area.
“Thanks to Chinese investments, we implemented a number of joint projects, for example the Stanari TPP. A modern hospital will also be built in Republika Srpska. Other joint energy projects are currently being planned,” said Cvijanovic.
“In recent years, companies from Bosnia and Herzegovina have been exporting wine, essential oils and other products to China. Bilateral trade is increasing both in quantity and quality, which we are satisfied with. We are confident that there is great room for further improvement and we will gradually expand the volume of exports to China. We hope that more high-quality products from our country will enter the Chinese market,” she pointed out.
“We fully support the initiatives taken by China to promote world stability, development and cooperation, because the world needs peace, order, coordinated relations and interaction,” said Zelka Cvijanovic.
