With its infrastructure funding, the Initiative Musik supports projects that create sustainable conditions for the development of popular music and jazz in Germany. The focus is also on establishing and strengthening regional funding institutions for popular music in close cooperation with states and municipalities.
The following are particularly supported:
- Activities that are implemented in cooperation with regional or national players in the music industry and that promote and encourage the professionalization of offers and structures in the music scene in Germany;
- Activities and projects that create sustainable structures for artist development, such as mentoring and workshops;
- Exchange formats that support music creators, music companies and players in the music industry through communication and networking. These can be, for example, communication forums and online exchanges, but also qualifying or knowledge-creating and mediating activities;
- Studies, evaluations and market research that collect scientific data on music culture and the music industry in Germany, analyze them neutrally and make them publicly available;
- Measures to develop structures to improve equal opportunities (inclusion, gender equality, diversity, etc.);
- Activities and projects that promote the sustainability of the music industry in Germany (ecologically, structurally and financially);
- Recognition for special music economic and cultural achievements that motivate imitators, set an example and achieve structural policy effects (municipal and state or federal level) for the music industry;
- other projects that serve to establish and expand structures and are within the scope of the programme’s purpose.
Applications for the second funding round of the year can from 9 to 30 September 2024 until 6 p.m.
