/ world today news/ BSP chases Yanaki Stoilov, leaves Georgi Gergov… Boyko is preparing to invite the expelled idealists…
Kornelia Ninova is about to completely crush the momentum of the victory in the presidential elections by turning the BSP into a litter of far-right oligarchs and millionaires. It is in this spirit that the already accepted proposal “that people who have served 3 mandates should not be elected as MPs” is aimed. This seemingly rejuvenating criterion is obviously of a very temporary nature, because otherwise after 2 years, even the current leadership will have to be thrown out of the party. The goal is obviously to clear up the internal competition, and to completely take over the party from the circles around Georgi Gergov, who helped the very election of Cornelia as leader. Once this is done, the rule will be lifted unless Cornelia herself is thinking of killing herself.
Authentic left idealists, such as Yanaki Stoilov, fall under the blows of the 3 mandates. He really has a long career in the BSP, but it is also a fact that under all leaderships he was something of an uncomfortable opposition. The concept that the leftist Stoilov should be expelled, but the privatization millionaire Georgi Gergov should remain, turns the BSP into an absolute grotesque.
In an attempt to defend themselves, the idealists proposed other criteria for the selection of deputies. For example, anyone who owns more than 3 million in wealth should not be able to apply. In fact, there is far more logic in this than in the 3 mandates, because what is this “left” party, full of millionaires and capitalists… Of course, the proposal was not accepted, simply because Cornelia herself is a product of millionaires.
Our sources in GERB informed us that Boyko Borisov is very carefully following what is happening in the BSP. It is very likely that if bright and positive personalities fall from the red ranks, he himself will invite them to become deputies. As is known, GERB is not any right-wing party, it is omnivorous. Inside there are both extreme anti-communists and agents of state security and grandsons of partisans. Boyko will be very well served by Yanaki Stoilov, who has always been a symbol of consistency and integrity, and has never been corrupt.
Cornelia probably believed too strongly that Gen. Radev had won, thanks to the BSP. In fact, he won, thanks mainly to the protest vote against GERB, combined with his personal authority as a general and a man of honor. It is true that the BSP gave him a strong initial push, but let’s not forget the huge result of the United Patriots, who took about 60% of the votes that Radev took. I.e. the general became president, because of the anger of the people, not because of Cornelia and Gergov. In fact, Gergov even harmed him – just as we remember that he completely ruined the support of the BSP in Plovdiv.
With the rise of the millionaire beginning, the BSP may not only lose the broad circle of voters, but even the hard core may also be eroded. These people carry a personal burden, and if they go to another party (even if it is not GERB), they will take the votes with them.
Realistically, Boyko, even if he didn’t catch them, would win, if only if there was another swarming of the left space.
