Despite the lack of significant rainfall, wheat is holding up in Entre Ríos

In Entre Ríos, wheat cultivation covers approximately 573,000 hectares in the 2024/25 cycle. The phenological state of the crop varies from tillering to heading (with two to three nodes on the main stem), according to the report of the Bag of Cereals.

The general condition of the crop in the province is as follows:

Very good: 26%

Buena: 55%

Regular: 16%

Mala: 3%

Since the last survey, the proportion of crops in very good condition has increased by 8 points at the provincial level. At the regional level, the South and East zones showed the largest increases in this category, in line with the distribution of rainfall over the last week, which has contributed to a recovery of the crop in that sector.

In contrast, the northwestern part of the province registered a slight increase in the regular and poor categories, because the rains have not been sufficient to establish the crop properly or for an effective incorporation of fertilizer.

In areas with higher humidity, the presence of diseases such as yellow spot and, to a lesser extent, rust was observed. In drier areas, on the other hand, almost no diseases were detected, but the presence of aphids was identified, which required controls.
