Abused Dogs in Padula, Major Operation Starts

On Saturday, at 3:45 p.m., a major operation against animal abuse conducted by the Aisa Animal Protection Unit of the province of Salerno concluded. The operation, which took place in Padula and began in the early hours of Saturday, led to over six checks on various facilities, where dogs were found in dilapidated boxes, without microchips, vaccinations and not registered in the regional canine registry. Some animals were tied with chains, in violation of the 2019 regional law, while others were in serious health conditions and in hygienically degraded environments.

Following the checks, two crime reports were sent to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Lagonegro for animal abuse and bad detention. Urgent orders were also issued for the removal of chains, immediate veterinary visits, the application of microchips and the construction of suitable boxes. For the irregularities found, fines totaling 600 euros were issued.

The health authorities and the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Lagonegro have been informed of the further anomalies found.
