After a second success in two preparation matches, the new OL women’s coach Joe Montemurro was particularly satisfied with the performance of his players.
Joe Montemurro is a fulfilled coach. After two victories in as many preparation matches, the new OL technician returned to the performance of his players, who easily disposed of Juventus Turin (4-2) this Saturday. He highlighted “the work done, especially in the first half. So it’s a good experience for us. A lot of the principles we worked on were put into place today, which is really encouraging. We’re gaining confidence in that aspect.“
However, he knows that there is still a long way to go for his team to reach its best level: “We still have a lot of work to do. We have two weeks left before the start of the championship. We are not at our best yet. We want to be able to start the Premier League in top form.”
A special match for the ex-Juventus coach
He also noted a drop in form from his charges at the end of the match: “Some players don’t have 90 minutes in their legs, so we have to continue to make them progress in terms of physical condition so that they are able to play a full match. We felt fatigue in the last 30 minutes.“That’s why he made several changes and some young players came onto the pitch. A satisfaction for the Australian:”I am lucky to have an extraordinary group. I can always adapt my tactics according to the needs. “
Finally, he returned to his time in Turin and what he personally felt during the meeting: “I spent three incredible seasons at Juventus. It’s a great club. It was good to see old friends, familiar faces, and to see that Juventus is still developing and is one of the best teams.“
OL Women will play a final friendly match next Saturday against KFF Vllaznia Shkodër, reigning Albanian champions.
