Kolkata/New Delhi. Since the onset of the southwest monsoon, there have been heavy rains in the hilly and plain areas of the country. At times the situation has worsened due to disturbances in the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal. Heavy rains have wreaked havoc in states like Gujarat, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana. Events related to flooding and water caused widespread damage. Now again the mood of the Bay of Bengal is changing. A depression has formed, which is likely to cross the coast of West Bengal and Odisha on Monday evening (September 9, 2024). Due to this, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in many areas of West Bengal and Odisha. Its influence can also be seen in Bihar and Jharkhand.
