Part of the upcoming OKTAGON 60 tournament is also Wahed Nazhand, who we could see in OKTAGON in a duel with Bahník, where the judges saw him win on points, but not so much the community, who considered the result very questionable. However, this does not change the fact that Wahed is heading to the next battle, in which he will have a chance to prove his qualities and make use of the experience he has gained during his very busy life.
The rivalry continues? The Clash star talks about an unpleasant encounter with Brichta
“When Wahed Nazhand entered our cage, he was certainly no novice to combat sports. His career began already in Afghanistan, where he became the champion of the SLFC organization. This success brought him real recognition and fame at the time – fans started to recognize him on the street and follow him on social networks. But it was there that his fame also had a dark side – along with admiration, threats often began to appear.
In 2021, the situation in Afghanistan changed fundamentally when the Taliban took over. For Nazhand, this meant only one thing – he had to flee. Leaving his native country was not easy, but Wahed eventually found a new home in Hamburg, Germany. Despite all the hardships, however, he never forgot his roots. Every time he enters the cage, he proudly carries the Afghan flag and represents his country, which he did not hold a grudge against, even though the new regime forced him to leave it.
He always dreamed of becoming a fighter. Already in his childhood, he admired the heroes from the posters and wished to be like them when he was an adult. But the path to his dream was not easy. Before becoming a champion, he made a living as a bookseller, earning just 63 cents a day in euros. Still, he never stopped training and believing that one day he would break through.
His first match in 2015 then took place in very modest conditions – in a dark and dirty room where water from a leaky pipe dripped directly into the cage. But he won his first match and began to write his journey as a fighter.
Today, Wahed Nazhand is the third most followed fighter in OCTAGON on Instagram, with almost half a million fans following him. This is proof of his huge popularity not only among Afghans. Only Mach Muradov and Hatef Moeil have overtaken him,” depicts an OCTAGON on your websitewhat Nazhand has been through and how much he has been able to develop. Not even Karlos Vémola has a crush on him on social networks. So we’ll see how he does in the next battle.
