115th Gady Market: Hundreds of tractors at the Gady Market in Lebring

The traditional market in Lebring, the Styrian folk festival par excellence, was ceremoniously opened today, September 7th, in the presence of numerous honorable guests.

LEBRING. The traditional Gady Market celebrated its 115th edition this year. As is traditional, late summer “Gady Market weather” was guaranteed. Friends of Styrian folk festival culture made a pilgrimage to the unmistakable Gady Market atmosphere in Lebring in southern Styria. A world premiere and two Austrian premieres were a highlight, along with the usual large tractor and agricultural machinery exhibition and the extensive new car show with the MINI Aceman, the Opel Frontera and the Massey Ferguson 9S. With the debut of the BMW motorcycle exhibition and the culinary delicacies in street food style from top chef Jürgen Csencsits There were two more new products to discover at the Gady Market.

Legendary tractor fun

The autumn market is also a fixed date for the nostalgia of agriculture – an invitation for the young and the young at heart. “We are proud that several hundred owners of historic tractors travel a long way once a year in September to the “I’m in Tractor Meeting” to present their magnificently restored and lovingly maintained treasures,” explains Philipp Gady. Around 350 tractors were counted. ORF presenter “Wetterpauli” Paul Prattes led the program as usual. At 1 p.m., the blessing of the tractors took place in the presence of Ingrid Gady, followed by a group photo. Of course, all participants received the popular surprise package including an “I’m in T-shirt”.

High-profile business discussion

The high-profile business discussion, this time on the topic of “The importance of the media for business, society and politics”, once again marked the official start of the Gady Market this year.
Chairman of the Board of Styria Media Group, Markus MairDirector General ORF Roland WeißmannPolitologin Kathrin Stainer-Hämmerle and Gady Managing Director and Owner Philipp Gady exchanged views and discussed the role of the media in creating economic opportunities and risks as well as its influence on the success of companies. The challenges and opportunities presented by digital change and the spread of fake news were also discussed. Editor-in-Chief Jürgen Hofer from HORIZONT Austria skilfully moderated the conversation. A celebration for the whole family

Of course, the usual regional delicacies such as grilled chicken, bratwurst and more await visitors, as well as live music, bringing the South Styrian joie de vivre to the festival tents and to the Styrian wine village today and tomorrow on Sunday. With around 100 different information and sales stands, the Gady Market on September 7th and 8th once again offers a varied program for young and old and proves its role as an important showcase for regional products and for exhibitors from the region.

The Performance show of the Austrian Armed Forces as well as the large amusement park with numerous attractions, of course, and ensures fun for young and old. “It’s a festival for the whole family,” agree the two managing directors Philipp Gady and Eugen Roth, and are already looking forward to many great encounters and good conversations with their loyal market visitors on Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. ADMISSION FREE!
