Querétaro.- An attempted kidnapping in the Balvanera Industrial Park, in Corregidora, Querétaro, resulted in a shootout that left two people injured. The attack occurred when Jesús Calderón Jr., a businessman in the plastics sector, was traveling in his Rolls Royce truck. His bodyguards responded to the attack with gunfire, while he managed to drive to San José Hospital to receive medical attention.
Municipal authorities, the State Prosecutor’s Office and the Mexican Army arrived at the scene of the incident to secure the scene and begin investigations. The businessman’s armored truck was located near the hospital, and the surrounding area was cordoned off by security forces.
A video is circulating on social media showing the moment of the attack, where a bodyguard can be seen defending the businessman while shots are heard. Fortunately, Calderón Jr. received four bullet wounds but his life is not in danger. Investigations are ongoing to clarify the events and prevent future similar incidents.
