The timing of the verdict in the trial of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s embezzlement money will be extended to the post-election period. The matter was reported by, among others, CNN.
Judge Juan Merchant announced the sentencing as November 26. Trump’s lawyer had asked for a postponement of the sentencing decision. The US presidential election will be held on November 5.
A jury found Trump guilty in a New York court on 34 counts of falsifying company records to hide a payment to silence porn star Stormy Daniels.
Trump faces a four-year prison sentence, but he will probably get out on parole. Experts tell the AFP news agency that as a first-timer, Trump will hardly end up behind bars.
