Author Juhani Seppänen has died, reports Ilta-Sanomat. Seppänen’s brother confirmed the matter to Ilta-Sanom Pekka Seppänen. Seppänen died at the age of 67.
Veli tells Ilta-Sanom that the writer died on September 5 after a sudden illness.
Seppänen’s most famous works are Clearly drunk, He’s doing a crazy job and The first word is father. Clearly drunk -work was published in 2006. The book followed the author’s personal experiences, how he tries to survive for a year without alcohol.
Seppänen recalled to Iltalehte in 2011 what kind of comments he had received about the book.
– The most confusing thing was that after the book came out, almost everyone started telling me about their alcohol consumption. The rule of thumb is that if you think about your own alcohol consumption, you should reduce it without thinking, Seppänen stated.
During his career he ran King Alcohol -discussion program on Yle TV1 in 2010. The program discussed the harms of alcohol and its impact on Finnish society.
Seppänen was a doctor by training and worked as an occupational health doctor.
