Provocative Mitsotakis: “Self-abnegation” for dealing with fires – The fire in Attica “escaped” – 2024-09-07 07:23:24

Kyriakos Mitsotakis from Thessaloniki made provocative statements, speaking at an event of the Ministry of Climate Crisis, as he neither more nor less “deified” his government for dealing with fires, saying that this year very important steps were taken both in prevention and in equipment.

In fact, after saying how well the government did, he noted that “perhaps in the world’s consciousness, some may think that nothing has changed this year and do injustice to the great effort that we made, not us, that you made.”

In fact, speaking to people in the field, he said that “I know and we know how saddened all of us can be when out of the 4,000 fires that were quickly controlled, one can escape. And yes, one escaped in Attica, a fire that did a lot of damage”.

The prime minister one day before his speech at the TIF is trying to absorb the great damage the government has suffered from state inefficiency. Today Kyriakos Mitsotakis says that the fire that entered the urban fabric in northeastern Attica has escaped, while a month ago Vassilis Kikilias was talking about “insurmountable conditions”.

The reality is that today’s speech, as well as the Prime Minister’s visit to Thessaly a few days ago, are done for communication reasons, so that in his speech tomorrow, Kyriakos Mitsotakis will talk about “courageous cuts” that will modernize the state. After all, in a previous TIF, the prime minister had said that for him “the essence is communication”.
