CT emergency, tests on a camper in Battipaglia

Tac-mobile. It is not the science fiction vehicle of an unprecedented superhero, perhaps capable of subjecting villains to futuristic computerized tomography: it is the “buffer” solution conceived by the upper levels of the ASL of Salerno to try to stem the emergency that has forcefully reappeared at the Santa Maria della Speranza hospital in Battipaglia. A truck, parked since yesterday afternoon in the vicinity of the emergency room, in which radiologists will subject patients to fundamental tests immediately after the functionalization and testing.
CAT on wheels: the device installed on the truck will represent the accompaniment to a well-deserved retirement for the obsolete device purchased in 2008, which has long since reached its end, given that the days in which it works are far fewer than those during which the “sixteen-year-old” device still manages to give faint vital signs. It is not a definitive solution: the mobile CAT will remain available to health workers until the new fixed equipment arrives in Battipaglia. Because the diversion to Maria Santissima Addolorata in Eboli of the machine that in 2021 was purchased for the Santa Maria della Speranza and which, in recent weeks, instead, was installed in the Radiology department of the other hospital in the Piana is not a gift to the “cousins” with nothing to claim.
The reverse path, in fact, will be taken by another, newer device, capable of also performing magnetic resonance imaging, which a little over a year ago was purchased by the ASL for the Maria Santissima Addolorata.
