Help offered for patients with breast and cervical cancer

California offers medical help for women diagnosed with breast or cervical cancer. This is the Breast and Cervical Cancer Treatment Program (BCCTP).

This program ensures that all women, regardless of their economic situation, can access quality treatments and comprehensive medical care.

Who qualifies?

To be eligible for the BCCTP, you must meet the following requirements:

  • You must live in the state.

  • A diagnosis of breast or cervical cancer must have been confirmed.

  • Household income must not exceed 200% of the federal poverty guidelines.

How to apply?

There are several ways to apply for the BCCTP:

  • Through your Doctor: Check with your doctor to see if he or she is participating in the program. He or she will be able to help you with the application process.

  • Every Woman Counts (EVC) Program: Request their support through the website.

  • Family PACT Advisor: Contact a Family PACT advisor.

  • County Eligible Worker (CEW): If you have Medi-Cal, talk to a CEW to submit your application.

Once you have submitted your application, BCCTP staff will evaluate your case and notify you of the decision.

If approved, you will be able to access a wide range of medical services covered by the program.

This program provides temporary coverage until a final decision is made on your application.
