The situation in SYRIZA is fluid ahead of the decisive Central Committee of the weekend, where the future of the main opposition party will be largely decided.
It is possible that at Monday’s meeting the majority of the group of “87” was in favor of the motion of censure, but no decision has been taken so far. The executives of the so-called intra-party opposition renewed their appointment for Friday night…
According to information from documentonews.gr, in the last few hours an effort has been made by some executives to gain ground for the opinion that a motion of censure should not be submitted, since the risk of not gathering the 148 votes needed (the Body counts 295 members after the winter departures).
Based on these “mathematics”, those who are against the motion of censure, believe that in the end Pavlos Polakis will back down and instead of raising the issue of leadership, he will content himself with asking for the flogging of Rania Svigou, but also for putting Stefanos Kasselakis under commission .
“All open”
A leading member of “87” leaves all possibilities open through documentonews.gr: “Maybe on Friday we will not decide to file a censure, but Kasselaki’s speech on Saturday morning will be so incendiary that it will force us to file it against during the meeting” he told us verbatim.
Some more… hardliners say that the best solution is to permanently leave the party, since they believe that the situation is irreversible.
Apart from the possibility of a motion of censure or resignation, it is certain that a text of political criticism against the leadership of SYRIZA will be submitted on Saturday, which will also be drafted the night before the start of the meeting.
“We have to show society that the voice of reason and the ideological part of the party is getting stronger,” say top officials of “87”.
They challenge Kasselakis
“The president must ask for clear solutions. He would have to appeal to the base with short procedures. If he wins the elections again, he will be able to proceed with his plan unaffected”, George Vassiliadis told Parapolitika, arguing that Stefanos Kasselakis “is turning the party into Kasselakis and friends”.
His statement is interesting that “the censure proposal only deepens the division. I think that clear solutions and clear words help much more to get out of this crisis faster.”
“The president himself should provide the solution and put himself in the judgment of the members” Olga Gerovasili said in the morning to SKAI, noting that “he claims that he mainly looks at the members and claims an undivided relationship”.
“I have raised the issue that we should trust the Organs and the base of the party. We have nothing to fear from appealing to the base of the party,” emphasized Sokratis Famellos, who, although he does not belong to the group of “87”, has many supporters from the members of the so-called internal party opposition.

Categorical refutation
People from the circle of Pavlos Polakis categorically deny all the scenarios involving the former if. Minister of Health with any underground collusion or alleged appeasement of him.
“We will not do this job every three or so times to respond to everyone’s scenario” they characteristically replied, putting an end to the rumors about seeking to form some kind of troika around Stefanos Kasselakis or seeking to replace Rania Svigou.
Executives of 87 tell documentonews.gr that if the Cretan MP submits a motion of censure, they will vote for it.
The decisive day is Thursday
Thursday will be decisive, since any developments are expected to be determined by the final proposal of the Statute Committee and Stefanos Kasselakis, the decision of the Ethics Committee on Christos Spirtzis and the meeting of the Political Secretariat.
