On Friday 6th, Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th September, from 10:00 to 20:00, the Tenerife Espacio de las Artes (TEA) will host the exhibition by Óscar Domínguez «Dos que se cruzan». This exhibition dedicated to the surrealist painter is curated by Isidro Hernández and will be open to the public until 24th November. This same venue will host the exhibition «Doble ciego» (Double Blind) by the artist Adrián Alemán until Sunday 8th, with an exhibition that can be visited free of charge on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from 10:00 to 20:00.
Throughout the weekend, from 10:00 to 20:00, the TEA will also host the mini-exhibition entitled “Naturalmente”, aimed at children, young people and families, whose theme invites reflection on the relationship that humans have with the natural environment and the mark they have left on it.
This weekend, the TEA highlights the screening of Light of 86 (Light Light Light2023), by Finnish director Inari Niemi. In this film, this young director with a fruitful filmography behind her in her native country, takes the viewer back to the memories of a young teenager’s first love during the fateful days of the summer of the Chernobyl accident. It will be screened from Friday 6th to Sunday 8th, at 7:00 p.m.
The Central Municipal Library is offering the exhibition “Santa Cruz Spa. 500 metres from the beach” until 18 October, from 12:30 to 19:00. This exhibition includes a selection of documents related to the old Spa, set in the port area of the time, highlighting its social and sporting aspect, from 1928, the year in which its construction was proposed, to 1992, the date on which it was closed.
The Central Municipal Library highlights the cinematographic genre with the selection of 28 films “based on real events” and along with them, those who have made a personal and subjective interpretation that fits with their artistic vision.

Carnival is always present in Santa Cruz. What better option than to visit the Casa del Carnaval, which presents three exhibitions dedicated to our carnivals. Finally, there is the permanent exhibition «2024 Carnival Winners», which displays the costumes and costumes of groups, ensembles, collectives and queens of the 2024 Carnival, such as the costumes of the three Carnival Queens, as well as those of murgas, comparsas, musical and choreographic groups that have won awards in 2024. In addition, as a novelty, the «Pioneers Showcase» has incorporated some documentary elements owned by Nicolás Mingorance, a great lyricist of the Afilarmónica Ni Fú Ni Fá who recently passed away. It can be visited on Fridays, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The plant known as “cat’s tail” and the consequences that arise from the insatiable demand for resources by human beings, inspired “Invasores”, the exhibition by the artist Pilar Boullosa that is on display at the Sala de Arte Contemporáneo. An exhibition that is made up of several installation pieces, and that can be visited until Friday, September 6, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
