The DJI Neo weighs just 135g and measures 130x157x48.5mm. The device is specifically aimed at vloggers and others who like to make videos. The drone contains a 12-megapixel camera that shoots stabilized videos in 4k-uhd at 30fps. To start filming, a user clicks the Mode button on the drone and selects the desired video mode. The drone then takes off and flies independently, without the need for a remote control.
The DJI Neo is equipped with algorithms that automatically track the subject within the frame. This allows the drone to automatically follow the user while walking, cycling or skateboarding. In addition, the device has six filming modes, called QuickShots. For example, there is a mode in which the drone flies backwards and takes off, while the subject of the video remains in frame. There is also a mode in which the DJI Neo flies around the subject, a mode in which it takes off while the camera is pointed downwards and an option in which the drone rotates while the subject remains in frame. Finally, there are the Helix and Boomerang modes, with which the drone takes off in a spiral around the video subject or flies in an oval path around the thing being filmed.
If you still want to use a remote control to control the DJI Neo, you can connect the drone to the DJI Fly app, other remote controls, RC Motion or DJI Goggles. It is also possible to control the drone with voice-controlled remote controls.
The DJI Neo can fly for up to eighteen minutes on a full battery. The device also has 22GB of internal storage, which can store 40 minutes of 4k/30fps videos or 55 minutes of 1080p/60fps videos. The videos can be transferred to the DJI Fly App via Wi-Fi. Audio can also be recorded by connecting the drone to the Fly app or to the DJI Mic 2 via Bluetooth.
The drone can be purchased separately or in a Fly More combination, which includes a remote control. The separate drone costs 199 euros. The Fly More package is for sale for 349 euros.
