This September 4th marks a decade since the death of Gustavo Ceratione of the most influential musicians of Argentine rock who, due to his hierarchy as a singer, guitarist and composer, as well as a producer, also had international significance.
Gustavo Adrian Cerati He was born on August 11, 1959 in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Barracas. From a young age he showed interest in music: at the age of nine he began studying guitar and at 12, he formed his first band.
In 1982, together with Hector Zeta Bosio and Charly Alberti the trio Soda Stereo. Between late new wave, pop and rock, the band is on the list of the five most influential groups in Argentine rock.
After the trio split up, Cerati began his solo career. Under his name and surname, he released five studio albums (Yellow love, Puff, It’s always today, Here we go y Natural force), to which are added remixes and collaborations, and the seven published with Soda Stereonot counting live plates.
In 2010, Gustavo suffered a stroke while giving a concert in Caracas, Venezuela. After being transferred to Argentina, He remained in a coma for four years, until today in 2014.shortly after turning 18 55 years old.
