Healthy sport for our seniors

Health and sports program for seniors

The CLS, in partnership with the solidarity company Eté Indien, will deploy 4 physical activity and cognitive stimulation programs funded by the Conference of Financiers on the municipalities of Greater Besançon. The fight against a sedentary lifestyle is also at the heart of the program of the Blue Week (September 25 to October 6) organized by the CCAS of Besançon and dedicated to our elders.

This program called MEM’HOP is supervised by qualified APA (adapted physical activity) teachers. It is intended for independent seniors living at home over the age of 60 and consists of 24 weekly sessions to combat a sedentary lifestyle and stimulate the 5 pillars of cognition.

A week dedicated to our elders: Blue Week of September 25 to October 6

From September 25 to October 6the CCAS of Besançon is organizing the traditional “ Blue Week “, in order to promote the place of seniors in the city. Organized in partnership with Créa’So – Association Créatrice de Lien Social and ORPAB, it is called, in this Olympic year, “Moving together… to keep the flame alive!” and places movement at the heart of a rich program.

Discovery sessions of various physical and sports activities, an intergenerational solidarity walk and guided visits to museums and libraries on the themes of sport and love will help cultivate one’s fitness and mind. Added to this will be performances by choirs and world music, dance, as well as the exhibition “Hidden talents of the elderly”, an afternoon of cinema-debate and screenings of short films.

All year round, the CCAS services and agents are there to maintain social ties and meet the needs of seniors: the Seniors’ Home, independent living residences, the Home Meal Delivery Service, the Home Help and Support Service, the Home Nursing Service.
