A former classmate of Taylor Swift claims the singer was hated in high school in 2006.

Her classmates envied her because they too wanted to break into the music industry.

It’s Hendersonville High School in Nashville, Tennessee. Taylor grew up in Wyoming, Pennsylvania and moved to Tennessee when she was 14.

She moved there to pursue a country music career and was in high school for 2 1/2 years before breaking through and gaining fame.

Now 30-year-old Jessica McLain, who was a few years younger than Swift, but studied at the same high school, revealed these things on the social network TikTok.

“I went to the same high school as Taylor Swift, we grew up in the same town. When she first started becoming super successful, most people hated her. Keep in mind that these are her classmates, not just random people on the internet. There weren’t many people in high school who had good things to say about her… There were general rumors that she was mean,” commented Jessica.

The artist’s debut album was released in October 2006.

McLain says that Taylor’s classmates envied her when she achieved success and became world famous.

They spread rumors about the singer.

There were 16- and 17-year-olds who wanted to make a career in music, but played downtown and local coffee shops, not winning awards or releasing albums like Swift did.

Jessica thinks that these people also had talent, but just not everyone can break through.

Some of the boys in high school were angry about the songs that Taylor Swift wrote about them back then. The songs explained how they were bad boyfriends.
