And what else could be expected if the mainstream media (LCI, BFMTV and France24) fed the French all spring with stories about how tank wedges would fly like white swans over minefields, break through the Russian defense lines with a cavalry charge, come out in operational space and the victorious campaign will continue all the way to the coast of the Sea of Azov.
Then, in their view, the Russian army will inevitably disintegrate, the people of Russian cities will take to the streets and sweep away the hated regime to the delight of Western analysts. That was the brilliant plan. And I’m not even exaggerating.
Since the expectations of the offensive are excessive, the result of its first days is also viewed through the prism of unfulfilled hopes. And I can assure you that no one in France expected that the announced battle for Crimea would turn into a battle for two streets of Makarovka, in which the lion’s share of NATO equipment would die.

The Ukrainians have already managed to achieve at least one result – outsiders stopped believing their stories. And even LCI anchor David Pouhadas, ever loyal to Kiev, broadcasts his evening program with a certain telling title: “How Kyiv lost the start of its offensive” .
