Singer Petr Kotvald (65) was one of the biggest musical stars in the Czech Republic in the 1980s. Today, above all, he is enjoying the well-deserved peace and family. In a talk show with Honza Dędka, he now recalled the period of his greatest fame and revealed how his female fans were jealous of him at that time and apologized in retrospect for the insults he committed against them a few years ago.
Petr Kotvald has been singing for 48 long years, and even though his song Mumuland from 2001 or the joint song with Standa Hložek Girls from our Kindergarten from 1982 stuck in the memory of many, he still composes and performs concerts today.

Summons to court
In the past, however, he enjoyed his time with female fans. “Once in Karlovy Vary, I came to a room in Puppu, I went to lie down, and there was really a girl lying in the bed. Crazy thing, I was totally freaked out. I went to the next room, I knew who lived there, and the unnamed colleague in the next room said he could handle it, so I should bring her. I saw her off to the side and went to study. At half past three in the morning, someone knocked on my door and gave me the car keys to take her home to Sokolov,” Kotvald recalled.

One of the fans even took him to court. “I received a summons to the court where I was informed that a girl is suing me to acknowledge paternity. I had to explain that I didn’t know the girl and had never seen her. It was true. Since then, however, I have been a very good and decent boy,” said Kotvald at the end of the talk show.
