Why does the President stubbornly hide the transcripts from the CSNS for KTB and the BGN 16 billion loan? – 2024-09-04 14:56:38

/ world today news/ In recent months, the topic of what exactly happened with KTB, why it happened and who will bear the brunt of this thing has been one of the main topics for all of us.

This is a theme that is invariably present in every news broadcast, but also in the lives of hundreds of thousands of people who were directly or indirectly affected by the bank failure and the way relations were settled afterwards.

The president, prime minister, government, BNB, parliamentary committee and individual analysts are constantly twisting facts and shifting blame to each other. Everyone wants clarity, but no one gives it. The Prime Minister today calls for everything to be declassified to reassure the public. Strong in his words, it remains to be seen what he will do about this practically.

I have already several times called on President Plevneliev to declassify the transcripts of all those consultations on the KTB and the need for a loan from the IMF, which he convened in the period June-July 2014. Half a year ago, I asked him to do this and on the basis of the Law on Access to public information.

And, if there is something in which the president has been consistent in his mandate, it will clearly be his wish that these conversations remain forever a secret for the Bulgarian society. Because, Mr. Plevneliev informed me in one of his refusals, the transcripts “do not represent official information where the public interest prevails”…

We will not give up – today I again requested in writing that I be granted access to the transcripts. I think it is everyone’s right to see who had what position on the KTB issue. I think that every Bulgarian will find their answer in them.
