German Youth Fire Brigade Day in Dresden

From 6 to 8 September, around 500 young firefighters will meet in the Saxon state capital for the 24th German Youth Fire Brigade Day.

The Floriansjunger in spe will make their first appearance on 6 September at the official opening of the 24th German Youth Fire Brigade Day on Dresden’s Neumarkt. There are two further public events as part of the festival weekend, which, in addition to the competition, also celebrates the 60th anniversary of the German Youth Fire Brigade. 7. At the stands, guests of all ages can experience emergency technology, drones and special vehicles live. 8. September The German Youth Fire Brigade Association invites you from 8 am to 3 pm to Heinz Steyer Stadium to the national competition of the German Youth Fire Brigade.

“This event gives us the opportunity to celebrate the committed young people who work for the common good and are indispensable for the future of our fire departments,” says Mayor Jan Pratzka.

New recruits at the Dresden Fire Department

The Dresden fire brigade also has a strong Youth Fire Brigadewhich is taking part in the German Youth Fire Brigade Day. A total of 410 children and young people, including 91 girls, are experiencing lively youth work and meaningful leisure activities at 20 locations. There are also two children’s fire brigades with 30 members. Fire brigade spokesman Michael Klahre explains: “We generate important new recruits from the youth fire brigade. Not just for volunteer work, but also for the professional fire brigade.”
