1383. Cyclist dies after previous traffic accident in rehabilitation clinic – Neuhausen

Already on Monday, July 29, 2024, at around 1:55 p.m., an 85-year-old man was riding his bicycle on Canalettostrasse along the Nymphenburg-Biedersteiner Canal.

He fell to the ground near Ponzone Street and injured himself in the fall. Passers-by called the emergency services. The police patrol, who were also called, recorded the accident on the scene. According to the current state of the investigation, it is assumed that the cyclist fell without any external influence. The cyclist was taken to a hospital for further medical treatment.

On Saturday, August 31, 2024, the Munich police received notification that the cyclist had unfortunately died in the meantime.

Further investigations into the cause of death and the circumstances of the accident are being conducted by the Munich traffic police.

1384. Burglary in commercial premises – Moosach

On Monday, September 2, 2024, at around 8:00 a.m., a local resident called the police emergency number 110. He reported that a business had been broken into.

After initial investigations on site, it was determined that between Saturday, August 31, 2024, 2:00 p.m., and Monday, September 2, 2024, 7:40 a.m., one or more previously unknown perpetrators had forcibly gained entry into a business in Moosach.

There, the perpetrators stole several thousand euros in cash. They then fled in an unknown direction.

The Munich criminal police carried out extensive forensic investigations at the crime scene.

Police Department 52 (burglary offenses) has taken over further investigations.

1385. Arrest of a suspect after break-in at an educational institution – Neuperlach

On Monday, September 2, 2024, at around 3:00 a.m., a security guard patrolling the construction site of an educational institution noticed a person. The person was apparently trying to steal tools that were located there.

When the security guard spotted the person, he fled. At the same time, he called the police via the emergency number.

As part of an immediate manhunt, a suspect was arrested who matched the description. They were also found to be in possession of suspected stolen goods. The suspect was then taken to a police station, where he resisted identification and insulted the police officers on duty several times.

The suspect’s identity has not yet been established. He is now being held in the Munich Police Department detention center.

He was charged with, among other things, particularly serious theft, resisting law enforcement officers and insult.

No one was injured during the act of resistance.
