My Electricity 6.0 has started – how to apply?

How to apply?

The application process lasts from September 2nd to December 20th or until the funds are exhausted. The budget for the 6th edition of the program is PLN 400 million. Experts predict that this amount will allow the application process to last for about 1.5 months. Therefore, it is worth hurrying up with submitting the application.

You can apply without leaving your home, via the Internet. You need a trusted profile or e-ID. They will allow you to confirm your identity.

The application is submitted via a dedicated website GWD funding application generator. The completed forms are sent to the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.

From the information posted on the programme website we know that there have been important changes to the recruitment regulations. Applications will be rejected from processing:

  • which will not be accompanied by a certificate of connection of the PV micro-installation to the OSD network;
  • in which the Applicant’s e-mail address will not be provided.

The eligibility period for costs is January 1, 2021 – expenses incurred before this date will not be eligible for inclusion in the application. It is important to note that applications may be submitted by people who will be billed in the new net billing system or people who have changed the billing system from the discount system (net-metering) to the net billing system.

How much can you get?

The maximum amount of funding that can be counted on is PLN 28,000. It may be available to people who invest in a photovoltaic installation, an electricity storage and a heat storage. You can also get funds to buy the photovoltaic installation itself. However, there is a certain condition in this respect – the installation had to be reported for connection by July 31 this year. If someone reported the photovoltaics for connection after this date, they must invest in an energy storage. Here, you can choose between an electricity storage (a popular battery) or a heat storage (e.g. a boiler). There is also an option to apply for funding to buy both types of storage. The maximum amounts of funding are as follows:

For many people, the phrase “heat storage” may seem a bit mysterious. However, within the meaning of the regulations of the sixth edition of Moje Prąd, it is not a complicated mechanism – these are mainly DHW tanks and heat buffers. Specifically, the following components:

The minimum capacity of a heat storage tank co-financed by the program is only 20 litres.

Not just classic modules!

As part of the Mój Prąd program, you can also count on subsidies for the purchase of devices qualifying for a photovoltaic micro-installation. These include roof coverings with a photovoltaic function, canopies and carports containing PV cells, photovoltaic balcony sets. All photovoltaic installations reported for subsidy must be connected to the electricity grid.

What else do you need to know?

Heat pumps, solar collectors and building energy management systems were excluded from the new edition of the program. The Minister of Climate and Environment justified this decision by the existence of other programs that subsidize heat pumps. Among them, she mentioned the Clean Air program (under which a subsidy is possible for a heat pump in existing buildings) and Moje Ciepło (covering the needs of newly constructed buildings).

It should be remembered that the total power of the energy storage and the PV micro-installation cannot exceed 50 kW. As for the storage capacity – there are no requirements. The Ministry of Climate and Environment has only issued recommendations. Energy storage they should have capacity of 1.5 kWh for each kW of photovoltaic power. However, this is not a formal requirement – the storage facilities can be smaller or larger, the subsidy will still cover them.
