More and more federal states are destroying unused and expired vaccines because demand for vaccinations is falling among the population. In Bavaria, around 53,000 vaccine doses have had to be destroyed since the beginning of the pandemic. More than half of these doses were reported as expired in July. This number could be higher because doctors’ offices, unlike vaccination centers, do not have to report these to authorities.
