Mr. Badr Hemras, Co-Founder of MintHR
Founded in late 2022, MintHR offers technological solutions aimed at enabling HR managers to attract, retain and advance profiles, as well as making their daily lives easier. Mr. Badr Hemras, co-founder of MintHR, specializes in supporting industrial companies in their digital transformation. In this interview, he explains how he became aware of the crucial importance of so-called “deskless” workers for the proper functioning of the global economy, the functioning and ambitions of MintHR, as well as the use of new technologies such as AI in an entrepreneurial framework.
La Nouvelle Tribune: MintHR was created to target “deskless” workers. Can you detail your initial observation and the ambitions that resulted from it?
MintHR was founded on a compelling observation: 80% of the global workforce works outside of the office. These deskless employees, who are essential to the smooth running of our economy, often operate far from the company’s headquarters. Until now, most HR solutions have been designed primarily for executives and office staff, leaving an opportunity for innovation to better serve and value these crucial employees. The Covid-19 crisis has reinforced this awareness by revealing the gap between the importance of these frontline workers and the lack of HR solutions tailored to their specific needs. As a frequent traveler, I have seen first-hand the challenges these workers face in various regions of the world. Experiences on the ground, in factories, hospitals and construction sites, have highlighted the need for an HR solution that recognizes their contribution and improves their daily lives. With my co-founders Karim Hemras and Abdelhak Latrach, we founded MintHR to offer an HR solution in SaaS mode, specifically designed to attract and retain these field workers while making their daily lives easier.
MintHR is designed to meet the needs of companies of all sizes. Our solution is aimed at both large enterprises and SMEs. In large organizations, our platform allows you to centralize and optimize human resources management, facilitating the coordination of teams distributed across different sites. For SMEs, MintHR offers a simple and effective solution to manage HR processes without requiring significant infrastructure investments. We understand that companies of all sizes have needs in talent management, resource planning, and employee engagement, which is why our solution is flexible and adaptable to various environments and industries.
What competitive advantages do you rely on to establish yourself in a fairly competitive market?
MintHR stands out for several key competitive advantages. First, our frontline worker-centric approach is unique. We offer an intuitive, multilingual interface, using simple pictograms to facilitate the appropriation of digital resources, regardless of the user’s level of digital literacy. Second, our technology integrates generative artificial intelligence to automate administrative tasks and provide valuable insights to HR managers. In addition, our development team, made up of 50% women – a great pride! – ensures constant innovation and rapid adaptation to market needs. Finally, our ISO 27001:2013 certification guarantees the security of our customers’ data, a crucial aspect for companies looking to protect their sensitive information.
How did you finance the launch of MintHR? How do you plan to finance its future development?
The launch of MintHR was financed by a combination of equity from the founders and the support of our first customers, convinced by our vision and our project. For future development, we will continue to favor financing through our subscription and service sales to our customers, who support our growth and trust us. Eventually, we could also consider financing via investors (VC). We firmly believe that our growth is based on continuous innovation and the expansion of our customer base, both nationally and internationally.
You rely heavily on AI. What do you see as the opportunities and challenges of using a new and rapidly evolving technology?
The use of AI offers many opportunities, including automation of HR processes, predictive analytics to anticipate skills needs, and improving the employee experience through self-service interfaces. However, these technologies also present challenges. The rapid evolution of AI requires constant monitoring and the ability to adapt quickly to stay ahead. There are also ethical and regulatory concerns related to the use of AI, including data privacy and algorithmic bias. At MintHR, we are committed to responsible and transparent practices, ensuring that our technologies meet the highest ethical and legal standards.
What are MintHR’s future ambitions? Do you plan to expand internationally?
Our future ambitions are to consolidate our position as a leader in deskless employee management in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Our goal is to reach one million users by 2026. To achieve this, we rely on constant innovation, adapting our solution to market needs and international expansion. We invest ourselves in recruiting talent and developing strategic partnerships. The satisfaction of our current customers and the growing interest in our solution around the world are evidence of our growth potential.
